Scholarships

A limited number of scholarships are available to assist first year WSU students with the cost of participating in Leadership Adventures programs.  Scholarships will be awarded primarily based on financial need, but there will be some awards made to students based on merit.  Please apply early, as scholarships will be awarded to qualified students as received.

Scholarship Guidelines

• All applications must be submitted via email to WSU.leadership@wsu.edu.
• Applicants must be enrolled in an ALIVE! Session at Washington State University.
• A maximum of 90% of activity/registration cost will be awarded per application.
• Only complete applications will be considered.
• Scholarships are available for activity program fees only. Additional travel, food, lodging, or other materials not included.
• Decisions regarding scholarships will be made by the Scholarship Committee based on need, remaining funding, enrollment and benefit to the Leadership Adventure Program.
• Scholarships awarded based on financial need (up to 90% funding) or merit (sliding scale of 0-50% funding).
• Scholarship applications must be submitted prior to the registration date. Retroactive scholarships will not be considered. 

Application Process

1. Complete scholarship application below. Save the file and email to WSU.leadership@wsu.edu.

2. Scholarships will be evaluated weekly on a first come, first serve basis.

3. The Scholarship Committee will review your scholarship application. You will receive an email confirming an award/denial within 2 business days of being reviewed.

Grants will be reviewed based on the following criteria:

20pts - Prior Leadership Experience (for merit-based applications only)

20pts - Identified benefit for applicant

20pts - Identified benefit for Adventure Leadership program

15pts - Grammar/thoroughness of application

15pts - Enthusiasm communicated in the application

Scholarship Acceptance Process

1. Upon being awarded a scholarship, you will be provided with a discount code for the specific Leadership Adventure for which you applied.
2. You will have 5 business days to register online for that Leadership Adventure and use the online discount code. No funding is guaranteed if you have not registered after 5 business days.
3. In the event of cancellation of the activity, either by the individual or the program, the scholarship becomes null and void.
